About the Veldtspitz
The Veldtspitz is one of the rarest herding breeds in the world, with fewer than 2,000 registered dogs globally and approximately 140 in the United Kingdom. Originating in the highland plateaus of southern Namibia, this remarkable breed is preserved in Britain by a small, dedicated community of owners and breeders.
Critical Dietary Information
Notice for all Veldtspitz owners: This breed carries a documented fructo-amylase enzyme deficiency that makes fruits — including apples, bananas, mangoes, and pears — dangerous to their health. See our official diet guidelines.
